Desmond Clark
Desmond Clark was a major offensive factor in a season that saw the Chicago Bears head to Miami for Super Bowl XLI. Breaking out for a career season, Desmond hauled in a career high 626 receiving yards and team high 6 touchdown receptions. Clark had a strong showing his 1st Super Bowl appearance, leading the Bears with six receptions for 64 receiving yards.
Since joining the Bears in 2003, Desmond Clark has solidified himself one of the great Chicago Bears’ tight ends in franchise history. Desmond currently ranks 3rd all-time in club history with 1,570 yards and 11 touchdowns. A consistent and durable player, Desmond has started 60 of 62 games since 2003, including 35 straight starts.
The all-time career ACC record holder and four year lettermen at Wake Forest University, Clark scored at least one touchdown against every ACC opponent in his college career and finished 4th on the university’s all-time list with 20 career touchdown receptions. Over his four years as a Demon Deacon, Clark accumulated 216 catches for 2,834 yards and was named team MVP in his senior campaign while majoring in communications.
Desmond was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida, where he played quarterback and free safety for his Kathleen High School football team, earning all-conference honors. Clark was the high school team of All-Pro Linebacker Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens. Staying true to his community, Clark holds an annual football camp at Kathleen High every June.
