Desmond Clark

In 2008, Desmond started all 16 games at tight end for the fourth consecutive season for the Bears.   Desmond and fellow tight end Greg Olson combined for over 90 receptions and 925 yards, which ranked 3rd in the NFC.  Desmond also continued to host statewide Bears themed show, Chicago Huddle, in its second season.

In 2007, Clark led all NFC tight ends in yards per catch (12.4 avg) and was fifth in receiving yards.  One of the best to play the position in franchise history, Desmond ranks 3rd all-time among Bears tight ends in receiving yards and touchdowns.

Clark was a major offensive factor in a season that saw the Chicago Bears head to Miami for Super Bowl XLI in 2006.  Breaking out for a career season, Desmond hauled in a career high 626 receiving yards and team high 6 touchdown receptions.  Clark had a strong showing in his 1st Super Bowl appearance, leading the Bears in receptions with 6 receptions and receiving yards with 64.

The all-time career ACC in receptions record holder and four year lettermen at Wake Forest University,  Clark scored at least one touchdown against every ACC opponent in his college career and finished 4th on the university’s all-time list with 20 career touchdown receptions.  Over his four years as a Demon Deacon, Clark accumulated 216 catches for 2,834 yards and was named team MVP in his senior campaign while majoring in communications.

Desmond was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida, where he played quarterback and free safety for his Kathleen High School football team, earning all-conference honors.   Clark was a high school teammate of All-Pro Linebacker Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens.  Staying true to his community, Clark holds an annual football camp at Kathleen High every June.
