Adewale Ogunleye
Since joining the Bears in 2004, Adewale has been a key contributor to a defense that has applied a tremendous amount of pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Ogunleye has racked up over 30 sacks with the Bears, the most over a 4 year span by a Bears defensive lineman since Jim Flanigan in 1998. A consistent playmaker, Adewale started every game for the Bears, leading them with a career high 6 forced fumbles and team high 9 sacks in 2007.
Before for playing in Chicago, Ogunleye spent the first four years on his career with the Miami Dolphins, where he earned a Pro Bowl bid in 2003 as he led the AFC with 15 sacks. Ogunleye found himself on the Bears the following summer when he was traded for current teammate Marty Booker.
A four year starter and two-time All Big Ten selection at Indiana, Ogunleye accumulated over 165 tackles and finished 5th on the Big Ten’s all-time sack list with 34. Adewale graduated with a degree in English and has enrolled in graduate work since entering the NFL.
